Book Dash is a Non-Profit organization that believes every child should own 100 books by the age of 5. They help to make this a reality in Africa, by holding events where creative teams volunteer to each create a book in 12 hours.

The story I got for this book was about a boy who finds shoes under a bed and gets transported to the places where those shoes might be worn. The problem was that there was no way to depict this with dialogue, so I split the spreads in half, having the shoe in its current environment in the first half while showing what his imagination transformed it into in the second half.

The short timeframe also meant that I had to keep the style simple, so I used a lot of texture and added in a chicken sidekick to give the pieces depth and interest.

In 2020, the world collectively hit pause. During that time, first-time author Kayleigh Sorel asked me to illustrate a book about becoming a new parent during this time.

Since the pandemic was a global event that we could all relate to, I decided to illustrate the story in a busy city (cough cough New York) with lots of people and from their different perspectives.

This allowed me to create a range of diverse families and make the book as inclusive as possible so anyone could read this to their child and find their family in there.

In 2020, Savanna and Comedy Central hosted a virtual comedy bar that paired illustrators with comedians for a new entertainment experience.

I was paired with KG Mokgadie for a hilarious set about a dirty weekend away with his wife. (You can watch the full episode here)

I had to listen to their sets, illustrate the scenarios they were talking about and animate the pieces. The production company then shot the comedians on greenscreen and placed them over my animations.

Designed by doctors and psychologists for the 43% of women who have sexual problems and questions. Rosy is the first-of-its-kind platform offering women a holistic approach to sexual health and wellness.

While doing funding rounds, they needed some custom illustrations to communicate what they’d learned from their extensive surveys, depict what’s next for Rosy and showcase how they’re different from other programs out there. These are some of the illustrations I created for that purpose.

Using their corporate guidelines and colours, I created unique characters and scenarios that seamlessly blend into their brand while also lending it some youth and fun.
