2021 Reflections

First THANK YOU to our community, especially our Enterprise Partners, Design Partners, and Team! Because of your support, Meaningful Gigs was able to grow revenue by 5x over 2020.


In the past year we’ve also added 14 top international brands as Enterprise Partners.* These EPs helped create sustainable wealth for African communities by providing our Design Partners with skilled jobs; specifically, for every $1 spent by our EPs an average of $3.44 of wealth was created for African communities.**

 

In terms of our Design Partners, we’ve grown our community by 4x since the beginning of 2021. We now have hundreds of active designers working with various Enterprise Partners, with a larger community of about 2000 designers we are working to upskill and match.


Because of these opportunities our Design Partners were empowered to buy land and even a home! Others moved to better apartments, while many helped their parents to renovate their homes. Design Partners were also able to fund their own education and pay off student loan debts, and this is just a fraction of the positive impacts Enterprise Partners have had on their designers!


Another exciting development for Meaningful Gigs was in growing our own team... We now have 11 team members spread across the globe, including London, Lagos, São Paulo, New York, and LA.

 

Also in2021 Meaningful Gigs launched Meaningful U, our proprietary upskilling product that uses machine-learning to upskill our designer community; this platform helps our Design Partners learn transferable skills like communication that will help them improve their work with all of their Enterprise Partners.


We are looking forward to 2022 and know we have a lot of room to grow and improve. However, we are really motivated to keep going because of the feedback we’ve received from our Enterprise and Design Partners. Here are just a few of our favorite quotes we would like to share with you:

**The Exogenous Spending Multiplier (ESM) was calculated using data from our Design Partners and how they personally spent their own money as well as a country’s Marginal Propensity to Consume (MPC). The average ESM is based on 10 case studies from 6 different countries.
